This invention relates to a membrane and method for the preservation of agricultural produce. According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a membrane for the preservation of agricultural produce comprising first and second outer polymeric layers, at least one of the outer polymeric layers being impregnated with a hydrophilic agent, and an inner layer dispersed in between the outer layers, the inner layer consisting of a polymer being impregnated with a carrier for incorporation of an antimicrobial volatile into the inner layer, the inner layer further including an absorptive agent, wherein in use, the membrane is placed proximate to agricultural produce to be preserved.Cette invention se rapporte à une membrane et à un procédé de conservation de produits agricoles. Selon un premier aspect, l'invention concerne une membrane pour la conservation de produits agricoles comprenant une première et une seconde couche polymère externe, au moins l'une des couches polymères externes étant imprégnée d'un agent hydrophile, et une couche interne dispersée entre les couches externes, ladite couche interne étant constituée d'un polymère imprégné d'un support pour l'incorporation d'un agent volatil antimicrobien dans la couche interne, la couche interne comprenant en outre un agent absorbant et, pendant l'utilisation, la membrane étant placée à proximité du produit agricole à conserver.
