A visual inspection device 30 e.g. a borescope, for use by e.g. mechanic, to view the interior of e.g. an aircraft engine, has a battery terminal 70 exposed when portion of rechargeable battery pack is removed from cavity. It also has a camera assembly with an image sensor e.g. charge coupled device sensor, to transmit image data via a flexible cable (38, figure 1). A rechargeable battery pack 50 i.e. lithium-ion power tool battery pack, comprises a coupling mechanism that engages a body (34, figure 1) to releasably secure the pack to the body. The device further includes a display such as LCD 306 supported by a support portion of the body. The display is electrically coupled to the flexible cable to display images captured by the image sensor.
