PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person support apparatus and mattress capable of configuring length and/or width according to a person supported thereon.SOLUTION: In a person support system 100, a bed comprises a deck section 132 having a width and left and right outboard deck edges. Left and right wings are movably coupled to the deck section. The bed also includes a left lead screw receiver mounted on the left wing, a right lead screw receiver mounted on the right wing, and left and right motor assemblies both mounted on the deck section. A left lead screw is coupled to the left motor assembly and to the left lead screw receiver. A right lead screw is coupled to the right motor assembly and to the right lead screw receiver.
