PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft candy having a strong sour taste and also solving the problem of hygroscopicity.
SOLUTION: There is provided a soft candy containing an acid taste agent selected from the group consisting of citric acid, ascorbic acid and their mixture, and a mixture of 6-O-&alpha-D-glucopyranosyl-D-sorbitol (hereinafter called as [1,6-GPS]) and 1-O-&alpha-D-glucopyranosyl-D-manitol (hereinafter called as [1,1-GPM]). The ratio of 1,6-GPS to 1,1-GPM in the mixture is 40 wt.%: 60 wt.% to 99 wt.%: 1 wt.%. The soft candy is characterized by containing 2 to 23 wt.%, preferably 2.2 to 15 wt.% and more preferably 5 to 11 wt.% acid taste agent, and 25 to 70 wt.%, preferably 30 to 65 wt.% and more preferably 40 to 60 wt.% above mixture.
