PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction type insect trap which has a simple structure and is easy to handle, and has a markedly higher trapping effect as compared with a conventionally proposed suction type trap. A suction type insect trap of a type in which insects attracted by an attracting light 2 are sucked and captured by a suction fan 22 built in a main body case 1. An upper surface of the main body case 1 is opened, and a suction hopper 3 having a horizontally elongated suction tube 4 formed in a narrowed shape so as to receive the opening is continuously provided. The suction hopper 3 is closed by a gutter-shaped reflector plate 6 disposed above the inside of the suction hopper 3, leaving an insect suction port 7 on the front side.
