PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient driving method capable of generating continuous mist with low power consumption even with an ultrasonic atomizer having a simple structure. An ultrasonic atomizer 100 has an ultrasonic vibrating unit 20 that generates ultrasonic waves, and atomizes a liquid that comes into direct contact with the ultrasonic vibrating unit. The driving method of the ultrasonic atomizer 100 is an ON period in which the ultrasonic vibrating unit 20 is driven by a power capable of generating atomization, and an ON period in which the ultrasonic vibrating unit 20 is driven by a power not capable of generating atomization. The next ON period is started before the atomized state generated in the ON period disappears in the OFF period.
