PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug administration device that reliably prevents incorrect administration of a drug.SOLUTION: A syringe pump 10 (drug administration device) administers a drug ME stored in a syringe 12 to a patient. The syringe pump 10 comprises an optical measurement part 38 that makes an optical measurement for the syringe 12, a control circuit 36 that analyzes a signal outputted by the optical measurement part 38 and identifies the drug ME in the syringe 12, and a monitor 40 that reports information of the identified drug ME.
