PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article facilitating putting on a wearer such as an infant, and hardly causing a discomfort feeling.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article 1 comprises: an absorbent body 10； a front side waist part 20 having a stretchable sheet 24 and a front side elastic member； and a rear side waist part 30 having a rear side elastic member. The front side waist part has a front side edge part, and the rear side waist part has a rear side edge part. Extension force in the left-right direction in the front side waist part when extending a length of the front side waist part in the left-right direction to 85% of the most extended length is larger than extension force in the left-right direction in the rear side waist part when extending a length of the rear side waist part to 85% of the most extended length.
