PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, while guide wires are increasingly thinned in wire diameter and there are very severe requirements of mechanical strength and X-ray opacity comparable with those of conventional guide wires with thinner wire diameters, techniques usually used to solve the problem include ones based on improving the mechanical strength by adding e.g. nickel to platinum and leave problems to be solved and provide a method of improving the mechanical strength of a guide wire further.SOLUTION: A composite wire material has a two-layer structure in which the outer peripheral surface of an element fire 1 composed of a powder sintered alloy containing 10-90 mass% of Ta or W and at least two selected from Pt, Au, Ag, Cu, Ti, Sn, and Ni is coated with a pure gold layer or an alloy 2 of Pt added with at least one selected from Ir, W and Ni.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】ガイドワイヤーについては細線化が一層進み、従来よりも細い線径としつつ、従来と同等の機械的強度やX線不透過性が求められるなど、非常に厳しい条件を求められている。
