PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing having a simplified form and structure and reduced weight to reduce production cost by improving a motor case and enabling improvement in the motor performance of a spool motor.SOLUTION: The electric reel for fishing includes a spool rotatably supported between side plates of a reel body, a spool driving motor held in the spool via a motor case and driving the spool to take up a fishing line, and a planetary gear speed reducing mechanism placed between the rotary shaft of the spool driving motor and the spool and composed of a plurality of planetary gear mechanisms to transmit the rotational driving force of the spool driving motor to the spool, wherein the planetary gear speed reducing mechanisms are dividedly placed in the spool and the motor case.
