PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vascular stent which does not affect on a human body.
SOLUTION: The vascular stent is decomposed and vanished in a human body after being implanted in the human body, and is formed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) having an optical purity of L-body of not lower than 99.8%, and a weight average molecular weight within the range of 80,000-300,000. In the PLLA used here, a remaining amount of polymerization catalyst used upon melt-polymerization of L-lactide is removed to an extent not detected by the atomic absorption method.
