The absorbing resin particles comprise a crosslinked polymer (A1) comprising units of a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2) and units of a crosslinking agent (b), as essential structural units. In a swelling volume measurement method in which the swelling volume per g of the absorbing resin particles in saline is measured, the ratio of the time period to a swelling volume of 5 mL (t1) to the time period to a swelling volume of 40 mL (t2), t2/t1, is 5-20.
