PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which allows a user to conveniently search an image file group generated in other medical instruments.SOLUTION: A plurality of CT image files 54 are stored in a DVD 48, and each CT image file 54 has one CT image. A retrieval processing unit 24 performs grouping of images in series unit, when searching a CT image file group in the DVD 48. Namely, the plurality of CT image files having the same series number are considered to be an image group 52. A group management file 40 is generated in order to manage the image group 52. Searching results can be displayed by image group unit, and the images can be handled.
