PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for precisely and stably arranging tape-like sheet materials at predetermined intervals.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an underpants-type wearing article is as follows. A plurality of tape-like sheet materials 33T are formed by slitting a first sheet material 1S in the width direction. They are conveyed in alternately different directions from each other to be divided for the belly side and the back side while keeping their positions in the width direction when they were slit. Each of the tape-like sheet materials 33T for the belly side and the back side are layered and fixed on a second sheet material 2S while keeping their positions in the width direction when they were slit, thereby obtaining a continuous members 11S for an outer body arranged on the belly- and back-side parts 21 and 23. Then, the continuous members 11S for the outer body arranged on the belly- and back-side parts 21 and 23 are adjusted their positions at the predetermined intervals D. An absorptive body 40 is layered across the second sheet materials 2S of the respective continuous members 11S for the outer body, while these second sheet materials 2S are faced inward so as to mutually overlap the respective continuous members 11S for the outer body and bond them widthwise together at the predetermined intervals.
