Die Erfindung betrifft ein endotoxinbindendes Lipopeptid ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polymyxinen, Polymyxin-Derivaten, Polymyxin-Analoga, deren Prodrugs und deren pharmazeutisch annehmbaren Salzen sowie eine Zubereitung zur parenteralen Verabreichung umfassend ein solches Lipopeptid, zur Prophylaxe oder zur Behandlung von Erkrankungen und Zuständen, die durch eine Endotoxinämie verursacht sind, durch i) parenterale Verabreichung eines Bolus des Lipopeptids zum Erreichen einer Lipopeptid-Serumkonzentration von 0,01 µg/ ml bis 0,8 µg/ ml und ii) Aufrechterhaltung dieser Lipopeptid-Serumkonzentration durch parenterale Verabreichung des Lipopeptids über einen vorgebbaren Zeitraum.Endotoxin-binding lipopeptide comprising polymyxins, polymyxin derivatives, polymyxin analogues, their prodrugs and salts, for preventing or treating diseases and conditions caused by endotoxemia, by (i) parenterally administering a bolus of the lipopeptide to achieve a lipopeptide serum concentration of 0.01-0.8 mu g/ml and (ii) maintaining this lipopeptide serum concentration by parenterally administering the lipopeptide over a predetermined period of time, is claimed. An independent claim is also included for a formulation for parenteral administration comprising the lipopeptide. ACTIVITY : Antibacterial Antiinflammatory Immunosuppressive.
