The present invention relates to a magnetic resonance imaging method and a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. In order to efficiently calculate shim configurations for magnet resonance imaging, a magnetic resonance imaging method for a subject using the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes the steps of: collecting first magnetic resonance image data of the subject using the magnetic resonance apparatus partitioning the first magnetic resonance image data into at least two kinds of ingredient calculating a B0 map, based on susceptibility values of the partitioned ingredients, in reference to the partitioned first magnetic resonance image data calculating shim configurations in reference to the calculated B0 map and collecting second magnetic resonance image data of the subject using the magnetic resonance apparatus.
