The present invention relates to a compression strip (1) of a composite material based on a polymer material (4) and means of reinforcement (5) having a thickness which is indicative of less than or equal to 0,7mm. The means of reinforcement (5) are embedded in the polymer material (4). The compression strip (1) is formed by a central part (6) comprising the means of reinforcement (5) between two lateral parts (7) consisting solely of the polymer material (4). The lateral parts (7) represent at least 8% of the total weight of said compression strip (1) and the means of reinforcement (5) are formed by a cord fibers (8), braided, flattened in the form of a tape. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a compression strip (1) of from a preform of the tubular reinforcement (11).
