ABSTRACT EFFERVESCENT COMPOSITIONS OF CEFIXIME AND A PROCESS FOR MAKING THE SAME A composition comprising Cefixime and an acid-base couple, wherein the composition has retained at least 90% of the CO2 content of an input blend is disclosed. An effervescent Cefixime composition comprising an acid-base couple, wherein at least 90% of Cefixime is released in about 2 minutes in a dissolution medium when tested in a USP dissolution apparatus is also disclosed. A process for preparation of a composition comprising Cefixime is also disclosed.
