There is provided a pharmaceutical liquid formulation of oxaliplatin for parenteral administration, said formulation comprising (i) oxaliplatin; (ii) water; and (iii) an additive selected from the group consisting of tartaric acid, a salt of tartaric acid, a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative of tartaric acid and mixtures thereof; wherein the additive is at a concentration of at least 0.01 mM. Methods of preparing the formulation are disclosed. There is further provided the use of the formulation in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of cancer and a method for treating cancer which comprises administering a therapeutic amount of a pharmaceutical formulation.
