PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height detection system capable of detecting accurately the height of a person, and an automatic ticket gate using the system.
SOLUTION: This system includes: a frame difference analysis part 4 for detecting a difference of a frame of an image photographed by at least a pair of cameras 2, and extracting a differential contour line from the difference of the frame a head top part analysis part 5 for extracting a static image contour line from a static image of the image photographed by each camera 2, and detecting a head part candidate point from the static image contour line and a height determination part 6 for determining a true head top part by determining a straight line connecting each head part candidate point detected based on the image by each camera 2 to the camera 2, specifying a three-dimensional position of the head top part based on the true head top part and position information of each camera 2a, and determining the height of the person from the three-dimensional position.
