PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method to improve the speed and efficiency of cleaning an endoscope and the like.SOLUTION: A cleaning device for cleaning a medical instrument which includes a fabric, wipe, or sponge impregnated with a composition which comprises at least an enzyme, a surfactant, and a humectant. The cleaning device is configured to be engaged with the circular arc of about 360° in the outer periphery of a tubular part of the instrument, and also to be elastically deformed in a radial direction.
