An implantable pressure sensor system, comprising: a pressure sensor module configured to be placed at a predetermined implantation site in which to measure pressure, a base plate having first and second sides facing in opposite directions, said base plate having a pressure input port extending between said first and second sides, said pressure sensor module is mounted on a first side of the base plate, the pressure sensor module includes a pressure sensor located on the input port and configured to measure the pressure existing in the input port and thereby provide a pressure signal corresponding to such a measured pressure, an electronic circuit mounted on the first side of the base plate and electrically connected to the pressure sensor module and configured to process a pressure signal, an internal coil mounted on a first side of the base plate and electrically connected to an electronic circuit, wherein said internal cat the cabinet is capable of receiving a power signal for supplying electricity to at least an electronic circuit, and transmitting a data signal corresponding to a pressure signal, a cap attached to the first side of the base plate so as to provide a hermetically sealed housing for said sensor module, electronic circuit and internal coils. 2.
