PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system and a sensor unit which can transmit data using an existing imaging device with a simpler configuration.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 20 has a communication light control section which controls communication light which is made incident on an imaging section 113 according to data to be transmitted. An endoscope device 10 has the imaging section 113 which generates image data in accordance with received light, and a CCU 121 which outputs the image data generated by the imaging section 113 to an external analysis unit 30. The external analysis unit 30 has a communication light analysis processing section 310 which acquires the data transmitted from the sensor unit 20, on the basis of an image of the communication light which is included in the image data outputted by the CCU 121.
