FIELD: domestic animals.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fodder composition for domestic animals. Fodder composition for domestic animals contains as source of hydrolyzed animal protein chicken liver, as well as a matrix which contains a fiber component which includes a soluble fiber source and an insoluble fiber source, wherein the soluble fiber source contains the beet pulp, and the insoluble fiber source contains a combination of pecan nutrient and cellulose material, and a polyphenol source; where the polyphenol source contains cranberry cake, pomegranate extract and green tea extract. Matrix is elongated and adapted to deliver a polyphenol source into a lower portion of the gastrointestinal (GI) mammalian tract after consumption by a mammal. Also disclosed is method preventing or relieving a symptom of an inflammatory disease, condition or disorder of a mammal, comprising administering an effective amount of said pet fodder composition. What is also presented is a method for beneficial manipulation of a mammalian intestinal microflora involving administering an effective amount of said fodder composition for domesticated animals with controlled release.
