There is provided a delivery system comprising an active agent in a polymeric material formed from a thermoplastic composition. Through selective control over the specific properties of the thermoplastic composition as well as the manner in which it is formed, the inventors have found that a porous network comprising a plurality of micropores and nanopores can be created.
