The present invention relates to a skin conditionercomprising the compound represented by the general formula:(see above formula)(wherein, the symbols are the same as those defined in thetext). Examples of active ingredients of the presentinvention include L-arginine and ethanolamine. Theseactive ingredients can be acquired as chemical synthesisproducts, or they may also be acquired in the form ofnatural substances. Preferable Examples of naturalsubstances include substances containing L-arginine and/orethanolamine obtained from rice. The skin conditioner asclaimed in the present invention demonstrates remarkableeffectiveness as an agent for the prevention and treatmentof atopic dermatitis and as a skin moisture retention agent.
