A medical system includes a sedation system and a central station incommunication with thesedation system. The sedation system includes a monitoring unit and a drugdelivery unit. Themonitoring unit is operable to monitor at least one physiological parameter ofa patient. Thedrug delivery unit is operable to deliver drugs to the patient based on datafrom the monitoringunit. The central station is operable to store patient related data and accessa plurality of sedationsystems. The central station may remotely control drug delivery throughsedation systems,remotely provide voice instructions through sedation systems, display videofeeds from sedationsystems, respond to queries from sedation systems, and/or provide otherfunctionalities. Thesystem may also include an instrument that is operable to perform surgicaland/or therapeuticprocedures on the patient. The sedation system may provide power to theinstrument and/orotherwise communicate with the instrument.
