PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking guidance system for a visually handicapped person which can select the generation of a vibration instead of the generation of a sound in response to a situation, and also, which can generate the sound or the vibration in response to the selection of a visually handicapped person at either one of cases wherein the visually handicapped person is walking along a required walking path, or the walking of the visually handicapped person has deviated from the required walking path.
SOLUTION: This walking guidance system for a visually handicapped person is constituted of a magnetic field generating means which is arranged along the walking path, and a guiding means equipped with a magnetic field detecting means which is carried by the visually handicapped person. In addition, on the guiding means, a sound generating means 28, a vibration generating means 30, an alarm style switching means 24, and an alarm stage switching means 16 are arranged.
