PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having an excellent cushioning property around a waist.SOLUTION: A disposable diaper has a cushion part formed in both a front body and a rear body or in one of them. The cushion part includes an inner sheet 41, an outer sheet 42, a waist expanding and contracting member 43, and a cushion forming sheet 44. The waist expanding and contracting member is sandwiched and fixed between the inner sheet and the outer sheet while being extended in a width direction of the disposable diaper. The cushion forming sheet is overlapped on both the inner sheet and the outer sheet or on one of them and is intermittently joined in such a manner that a joining part 51 and non-joining part 52 continue alternately in the width direction.
