PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food container for a microwave oven which can process by steaming such that food is turned to be full by heating with the microwave oven and can reproduce texture just after being cooked when taking such food as packed rice steamed with red beans or other ingredients.SOLUTION: A container main body 1 respectively including: support protrusions 3 which are arranged and formed on a bottom part surface a storage part 2 for storing a water containing agent 5 which is disposed on a bottom part as necessary a placement part 6 which is continuously formed on an upper edge of the storage part 2, disposed on the upper periphery of the storage part 2 and a cover engagement part continuously formed on the placement part 6, disposed on the upper end is formed. In the container main body 1, a perforated placement plate 10 for loading food is placed on the support protrusions 3 and the placement part 6, and a cover body 20 with which the food on the perforated placement plate 10 is covered is fixed to the container main body 1. The perforated placement plate 10 is formed in a layered shape by arranging and overlapping a porous water-absorptive sheet material 11 made of nonwoven fabric on a lower part and a grid-like mesh material 12 on an upper part.
