In the present invention, a system, apparatus, and method for providing a disposable imaging device for a sterile environment are described and described. Disposable high-definition cameras used for general purpose surgical procedures, including but not limited to arthroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, gynecology, and urinary procedures, may include imaging devices that are sterilized and designed to warrant disposable use. The imaging device may include a single imaging sensor, which is one of a charge coupled device (CCD) or a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) contained in a housing. The imaging device may further comprise the ability to be attached to the optical coupling device using a C-mount thread or other proprietary or proprietary connection method.
