There is provided a drug for preventing or treating inflammatory bowel disease, comprising as an active ingredient an RXR agonist which is a compound represented by Formula (1). In Formula (1), it is preferred that: R1 is an alkyl group R2 is an alkyl group W is NR3, and R3 is an alkyl group X1 is CH Y1 is N X2 and Y2 are CH and Z is a carboxyl group. Thus, a drug capable of strongly preventing or treating inflammatory bowel disease while suppressing the onset of side effects is provided.
