An illumination device is described. The illumination device comprises detachable light source unit, a housing and a power module disposed in the housing. The detachable light source unit comprises a flexible tube having a first end and a second end, an inserting connector attached to the first end and a light source module connectable to the second end. The light source module comprises a light source to illuminate a target area. The power module comprises a circuit board, a receiving connector coupled to the circuit board and configured to receive the inserting connector of the light source unit and a battery electrically connected to the circuit board to provide power to the light source module of the light source unit for illumination of the target area.本發明公開了一種內視鏡檢查用照明裝置，係包含一可拆卸光源元件、一外殼及一設置於該外殼中的電源組件，該可拆卸光源元件包含一具有第一端及第二端之撓性管，一與該第一端連接的插入連接器，及一可與該第二端連接之光源組件，該光源組件包含一光源以照明目標區域，該電源組件包含一電路板，一耦合至該電路板之接收連接器，其配置係用以接收該光源元件的插入連接器，以及一與該電路板連接之電池，提供電源給該光源組件以照明目標區域。本發明藉由配置而能達到準確區域並照明該區域或位置，以檢視清楚內部表面、器官或組織，而傳統內視鏡之照明區域，無法做到此部分。
