To provide a composition and a method for neutralizing or masking of malodor in laundry.SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of preparing a composition for washing including 3-benzyl-tetrahydropyran； a step of combining the composition for washing with a liquid medium for contacting with laundry； a step of bringing the liquid medium including the composition for washing into contact with laundry. The concentration of 3-benzyl-tetrahydropyran in the liquid medium is at least 15 ppm based on the mass of the composition for washing.
