The harvesting apparatus has movable collecting container (8) that is positioned relative to harvester (1). A conveying tube (4) has outlet pipe (6) which is arranged for for emptying grain tank (3). The collecting container arranged on a carrier (11) is moved in a position relative to harvesting machine during conveyance of crop material by a control device. The collecting container is provided with a filling device, through which a uniform distribution of crop in reservoir can be achieved.
