To provide a surgical instrument easy to operate and excelling in gripping, pressing and hemostasis and coagulation ability of microwave-treatable living tissue.
SOLUTION: The microwave surgical instrument includes a vertical division structure of a coaxial cable at the end. The end has a substantially flat longitudinally elongated living tissue contact surface, and the living tissue contact surface includes a microwave transmission center conductor linearly exposed at the center part, an insulator around it and an external conductor end exposed in parallel with the center conductor around the insulator. This microwave surgical instrument can efficiently apply microwaves to the living tissue and has excellent hemostasis and coagulation ability.
