Device for erecting trees for practical training of forestry personnel - has frame linked to base and pivotable into vertical position by lifting cylinder and has cable going around pulley and attached to jaws to grip trunk
A frame (2) which can tip onto one side is linked to a base structure (12) on the ground. The frame is pivotable from the horizontal to the vertical by a lifting cylinder (6). The frame has a tensioning element, in the form of jaws (4,10) for the tree stems, which is moved by another lifting cylinder (3). Opposite the frame side is a cable (7) or chain which is attached to the tension opening of the frame and goes through a pulley (8) on the base structure opposite the frame linkage. The outside of the frame may have a covering which acts as a footpath plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - For practising the felling of trees. It can be placed directly in the training place, depending on the size of the tree, a lot of practise can be had on just one trunk. It is possible to simulate felling by gravity.
