The present invention relates to a composition containing an Achyranthes japonica extract or a fraction thereof, and to a method for producing the same composition. In addition, the present invention relates to a use of the same composition for treating overactive bladder syndrome or pollakisuria. The composition extends a micturition interval and bladder capacity and thus is useful for alleviating and treating overactive bladder syndrome.
