PURPOSE: A device for trimming the toenail of a pet and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to safely cut the toenail of a pet without injuries. CONSTITUTION: A device for trimming the toenail of a pet comprises a casing, a cutting blade(120), a switch(150), and a control plate(160). The casing comprises a toenail insertion hole in the front thereof in order to insert the toenail of a pet. The cutting blade is installed to move up and down inside the casing and gradually cuts the toenail of a pet. The switch is installed outside the casing, is connected to the cutting blade, and moves the cutting blade up and down.본 발명은 애완동물 발톱 손질장치 및 손질방법에 관한 것으로, 굵고 둥근 형태를 갖는 애완동물의 발톱을 점진적으로 상처 없이 안전하게 자르고 매끄럽게 다듬어 마무리할 수 있도록 한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명은, 애완동물의 발톱을 삽입할 수 있도록 정면에 발톱 삽입공을 구비한 케이싱과； 상기 케이싱 내부에서 승강 가능하게 설치되고, 하강시 상기 발톱 삽입공을 통해 삽입된 애완동물의 발톱을 자를 수 있도록 한 절삭날과； 상기 케이싱의 외부에 설치되고, 상기 절삭날과 연결되어 상기 절삭날을 승강시켜주는 스위치를 포함하여 구성된다.
