PURPOSE: A method for preparing meropenem trihydrate with high yield and high purity is provided to cheaply and easily prepare meropenem trihydrate in a commercial scale. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing meropenem trihydrate comprises: a step of performing substitution reaction of a compound of chemical formula II and a compound of chemical formula III in a mixture solvent containing low polar organic solvent of acetone, tetrahydrofuran, or acetonitrile and high polar organic solvent of N-methyl-pyrrolidinone, N,N-dimethylformamide, or N,N-dimethylacetate amide under the presence of a base to prepare a compound of chemical formula IV a step of deprotecting the compound of chemical formula IV in the mixture solvent in situ and a step of adding an organic solvent of acetone, tetrahydrofuran, acetonitrile, ethanol, or propanol.본 발명은 아세톤, 테트라하이드로퓨란 및 아세토니트릴로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 저극성 유기용매와 N-메틸피롤리딘온, N,N-디메틸포름아마이드 및 N,N-디메틸아세트아마이드로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 고극성 유기용매의 혼합용매를 사용하여 간단하고 효율적으로 메로페넴 삼수화물을 고수율 및 고순도로 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 제조방법에 따르면, 중간체 화합물의 분리과정 뿐만 아니라 추출이나 농축과 같은 후처리 과정의 필요 없이 메로페넴 삼수화물을 상업적인 규모로 용이하게 경제적으로 제조할 수 있다.
