PURPOSE: A method for selecting foreign materials of dried welsh onion and a device thereof are provided to effectively select foreign materials which are mixed in the harvest, washing, drying, cut, and handling of welsh onion.CONSTITUTION: Shredded dry welsh onions are supplied. The supplied dry welsh onions are selected with a first wind power by using a difference in a specific gravity. Foreign metal is separated from the selected welsh onion by using magnetic force or electromagnetic force. The dry welsh onion in which the foreign material is separated is selected with a second wind force by using a difference in specific gravity and selected by using a difference in particle size. The foreign material having a density difference is separated from the selected dry welsh onion by using an X-ray beam. The step for supplying dry welsh onion, the step for selecting with the first wind force and the step for separating foreign material by using magnetic force are integrated into a first step for selecting foreign material and processed temporarily.
