PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a climbing assisting material intended to be vertically arranged and to cause a sheet and thin cotton or the like to adhere to each other for a long period of time, different from a vegetation mat for slope greening, including: a net sheet-like thin cotton laminated on one surface of the net and a coarse fiber layer such as a coconut fiber, laminated on the sheet-like thin cotton with a water-soluble adhesive material, used for covering a soil surface with the thin cotton and the coarse fiber layer by causing an adhesion function to be deteriorated early to prevent a surface soil, a plant seed, a fertilizer, and the like from moving.SOLUTION: The climbing assisting material for assisting climbing of a clinging-type plant (P), includes a shape keeping material (1), a coconut husk mat (2) and a three-dimensional wire mesh (3). The shape keeping material (1) is attached on one surface of the coconut husk mat (2) to be involved in maintenance of a shape of the coconut husk mat (2). The coconut husk mat (2) is a mat obtained by forming many coconut husk fibers together to be a mat with a needle punch or an adhesive, for example, to cause an adhesive root (R) of the clinging-type plant (P) to easily adhere. The three-dimensional wire mesh (3) is for prevention of the clinging-type plant (P) from dropping off and is arranged on the other surface of the coconut husk mat (2).
