PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive system for a respiratory apparatus with control performance or operation performance improved to ensure safety.SOLUTION: The respiratory apparatus includes a power supply 4210, a motor 4144 powered by the power supply, and a transient absorption diode circuit 4400 between the motor and the power supply. The transient absorption diode circuit absorbs energy generated by the motor from rotational kinetic energy. Such absorption serves to protect the components of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a fault mitigation integrated circuit (IC). The IC circuit is included in the respiratory apparatus to detect one or more faults on the basis of physical and system parameters of the apparatus.
