PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging system and method that can reduce time in entire inspection in workflow of multi-station MRI.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging system includes a first collection unit, a receiving unit and a second collection unit. The first collection unit collects preparation scan data including at least positioning image data from different sites of a subject, each of which is placed on respective plurality of imaging stations in the multi-station MRI. The receiving unit receives, from an operator, operation for setting diagnostic scan parameter for the respective imaging stations, based on the preparation scan data corresponding to the respective scan stations.
