The assembly further comprises an elongate member (152) including an open distal end, a proximal end portion (154) and a through passage (153) having a longitudinal axis through which the needle passes. An axially extending arm extends from a base (118), the base comprising an aperture (119). At least a portion of the needle and at least a portion of the proximal end portion of the elongate member reside in the aperture. The axially extending arm has a radially extending end segment. In a non-shielding position of the axially extending arm, the radially extending end segment does not extend over the open distal end of the elongate member. In a shielding position of the axially extending arm, at least a portion of the distal end section of the needle is positioned inside the elongate member and the radially extending end segment extends over the open distal end of the elongate member to impede distal movement of the needle.
