PURPOSE: An anti-atopic composition containing Rosa multiflora Thunberg extract or phlobatanin compounds is provided to treat atopic dermatitis and to suppress the expression of iNOS and COS. CONSTITUTION: An anti-atopic composition contains Rosa multiflora Thunberg root extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by isolating with water, hydrous or anhydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, acetone, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, or 1,3-butylene glycol. The anti-atopic composition contains phlobatanin compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The composition is a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition. The pharmaceutical composition is an external use skin formulation.본 발명은 찔레나무 뿌리 추출물 또는 화학식 1로 표시되는 플로바탄닌(phlobatannin) 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 항아토피 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에서 찔레나무 뿌리 추출물과 화학식 1의 플로바탄닌 화합물은 아토피 피부염 유발 동물모델 NC/Nga 마우스에서 아토피 피부염의 치료 효능을 보이며, NC/Nga 마우스로부터 채취한 혈액에서 호산성백혈구(eosinophil)의 수 및 IgE의 수준을 감소시키고, 혈액 및 림프구에서의 Th2 면역조절 사이토카인인 IL-4, IL-5 및 IL-13의 수준을 감소시키며, NC/Nga 마우스 피부로부터 채취한 세포의 iNOS와 COX 단백질의 발현을 억제하는 효능을 가진다. 따라서, 본 발명의 찔레나무 뿌리 추출물과 화학식 1로 표시되는 플로바탄닌 화합물은 아토피성 질환의 치료제, 화장품 및 기능성 식품으로도 개발될 수 있다.
