An apparatus for an electronic aerosol provision system comprising a reservoir 210 for a source liquid; a carrier module 160 that defines an airflow path 120 within the reservoir and comprises a heating element 103 supported in the airflow path within the reservoir for generating an aerosol from the source liquid, wherein the carrier module comprises a first and second part which cooperatively engage to support the heating element and engage at an interface that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of airflow in the airflow path. The apparatus may comprise a gap between the first and second parts of the carrier module providing a capillary channel 200 to draw liquid to the heating element from the reservoir. The heating element is preferably a sheet material extending in a plane which is substantially parallel to the interface between the first and second parts of the carrier module. The apparatus preferably comprises an outer housing 180 in which the carrier module is received, the reservoir around the airflow path being defined at least in part by a space between the carrier module and the outer housing.
