The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode catheter having an excellent torque transmitting performance compared to conventionally known electrode catheters. This electrode catheter is provided with a catheter shaft (10), ring-shaped electrodes (201-210), and conductive wires (301-310) for the ring-shaped electrodes (201-210). The catheter shaft (10) is configured from an inner tube (11) having a guide wire lumen (11L), and an outer tube (13) which forms a lumen (12L) through which the conductive wires (301-310) pass. The outer tube (13) comprises a braided tube reinforced with resin braids (135) along the entire length thereof. A distal section (101) of the catheter shaft (10) has side holes (15) in the wall of the outer tube (13), the side holes (15) being formed at positions corresponding to the positions at which the ring-shaped electrodes (201-210) are mounted. The conductive wires (301-310) enter the lumen (12L) through the side holes (15) and extend through the lumen (12L).
