PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scan type endoscope apparatus capable of making an outgoing end of an optical fiber scan in a rotational manner.SOLUTION: An optical scan type endoscope apparatus includes: adjusting means for adjusting a bending amount and bending direction by applying voltage to respective actuators which bend an optical fiber by pressing its part in the vicinity of an outgoing end of the optical fiber from at least five or more directions orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, and rotate the outgoing end of the optical fiber spirally to make the light radiated from the optical fiber scan a predetermined region detection means for detecting a rotation locus of the outgoing end of the optical fiber and determination means for determining whether or not the actuator is abnormal on the basis of the detected rotation locus of the outgoing end of the optical fiber. The adjusting means adjusts the voltage applied to the actuator adjacent to the actuator determined to be abnormal so that optical fiber scanning means scans a region including the predetermined region when the actuator is determined to be abnormal. Thus, the bending amount and the bending direction of the optical fiber are adjusted.
