The present invention provides a condensed heterocyclic compound represented by the general formula (1): {wherein R 1 represents a (C 1 -C 6 ) alkyl group, R 2 represents a halo (C 1 -C 6 ) alkyl group, G 1 , G 2 , G 3 , G 4 , G 5 , G 6 , G 7 and G 8 each represent CH or N, and m represents an integer of 0 to 2} or a salt thereof； an agricultural and horticultural insecticide comprising the compound or the salt as an active ingredient； and a method for using the insecticide.
